21 Months

Jackson is 21 months (as of today)!  At-home measurements have him at  27.5 lbs and  34.5 inches.  Here’s a comparison:

19 months 26.5 lbs (74%)  33 in (60%)
21 months 27.5 lbs (74%)  34.5 in (83%)

Current Developmental Milestones:

• Signing – it’s all about talking now!  Rarely using signs now.
• Talking – newer words include:  doctor, apple, moon, milk, book, outside, slide, eyes, Elmo, tree, shoes, Blues Clues, bite, night, uh-huh, yes, no… a total EXPLOSION of vocabulary over the last few weeks!  At this point, he’ll pretty much attempt to repeat any simple word when prompted.
• Teeth – 8 upper, 8 lower.  Only ones left are the second molars!
• Favorite toy right now – Mr. Potato Head, trucks
• Favorite books – Goodnight Gorilla (again!), If You Give a Pig a Pancake
• Cute behaviors – yells “ELM-o!!” whenever he sees or hears Elmo.  Also, when he asks to watch Blues Clues, he flashes his “paw prints” with his hands as he says “Boos Coos.”    He’ll also mimic the “we just got a letter” moment from the show with one of his play letters (holding it and swinging it side to side).  Has just started doing “shhhhh” with holding a finger up to his mouth.  Has started fake “grunting” with effort when climbing stairs or similar physical activities.
• Not-so-cute behaviors – I’m still saying “no hands!” all the time…
• Favorite TV show – Sesame Street by far, followed by Blues Clues.  Sadly, Yo Gabba Gabba has fallen by the wayside :(
• Wearing size 24 months clothes, and in size 4 diapers
