Amy & Nate came in for a visit this past weekend, and we had tons of fun! There are some pics on their blog at http://r2cents.blogspot.com/2010/06/fun-with-sharla-and-jackson.html … but here’s our side of the story! ;)
We got up bright and early Saturday morning and headed off to the Lazy 5 Ranch. Driving through to see the animals was super cool (and quite scary at times with those crazy birds!) There was also a small separate walking/petting zoo area, as well as a playground. Jackson seemed to really enjoy it all, but he did get cranky toward the end. We bounced out right before the ridiculousness of the heat set in!
these birds will give you nightmares! We fed them some, but they show no fear and attack the feed bucket so aggressively! We eventually left the windows up and avoided them altogether. As Jackson said, “that bird scare me!”

Jackson and Nate also had fun playing around the house, and they could usually be found either at the train table or in the midst of constructing chaos out of Jackson’s toys in his room :)
On Saturday afternoon, we set up some outdoor summer fun, including the pool, water table, and other outdoor toys. For the mommas? Beach chairs, a fan, ipod player, and cold beer (well, cold water for the one with-child) =)
