Latest & greatest (he’s a talker! …. my little notepad reminding me of all the funny stuff fills up so fast these days!)
Mama
All of a sudden, he decided to start calling me Mama instead of Mommy. A couple of times he’s even thrown a “mom” in there. And he’s even used the “mahhhh-oommmmmm” whiny one too. I miss “mommy,” but I’m getting used to “mama” now, I suppose.
Sure
Some of his favorite phrases of late include the word “sure.”
* “It SUUUURRREEEE is!”
* “I SSUUURRREEEE am!”
* “They SURREEEEE do!”
So instead of yes, we usually get some variation of a “SURRRREEE” phrase
My People
”What’s goin’ on, people?”
- what I overheard Jackson saying to his play people on the train table
Baby Sister
”That's my baby sister!”
- Jackson proclaimed, as he watched images of himself as a baby scroll across on my mom’s digital photo frame. Now he will usually say they are pictures of “Baby Jackson,” after I corrected him a couple of times. I think he got the “baby sister” thing from one of his little pals, who does have a young baby sister that we had visited recently :) Jackson was super cute and kept hugging her and patting her head. :)
Food Chain
"Alligators eat leaves and meatballs.”
-out of the blue, while riding in the car
Shapes everywhere
”Look at those rectangles – they are very, very cool!”
- while riding in the car, referring to street signs
Funny Mama
”You’re a funny mommy.”
- to me, while I was pretending to be various oceanic creatures in the pool at swim class. mission. accomplished.
