St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival

We visited the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and parade in uptown Charlotte this past weekend.  It was our first time going, and I had no expectations (huge crowds + Jackson could equal point-of-no-return-meltdown-mode), but we had a great time!  Even though there was a massive crowd, it didn’t seem too bad, and there was room for folks to spread out.  We even found a spot for the parade where Jackson could see without having to be held.  Here are some pictures from our fun day…

awesome Irish music from the parade

After the parade, Jackson had fun playing in the Green (a small park area uptown), and especially enjoyed playing in this “unique” new skull art piece that he referred to as a “house.”  At least I could enjoy an Irish ale while he explored!

Playing inside – it was interesting how the entire piece was made of small pebbles and irregular tiles

What beautiful weather, and a what a fun day! :)
