Three & a half stats

Jackson is 3 and a half (last week)!  Measurements have him at 37(ish? not trusting my scale…) lbs, 39.5 in. Here’s a look at how he’s grown!

First Day

Current Developmental Milestones:

• Concepts – Alphabet: can sing ABCs; recognizes most letters visually.  Counting:  He can count toward 100 now in English and 10 in Spanish! 
• Name:  He’s learning to spell his name, thanks to a neat wooden puzzle board my mom & sister scored at a thrift store.  He learns much more with manipulatives than other methods.
• Pretend play – running rampant now!  Much of his play time is geared towards imaginative pretend play.  I often hear him making his toys “talk” to each other.
• Favorite toy right now – workbench/tools, scissors, and train table are probably the favorites
• Favorite books – he sort of fluctuates and isn’t particularly “stuck” on any one book these days
• Favorite TV show – Handy Manny, hands down
• Cute behaviors –  He’s much more affectionate with me of late, especially new since it’s often self-initiated and unprompted.  Love it!  He’ll just randomly snuggle up to me on the couch and say “I love you, Mommy.”  oh my, the heart swoons. :)
• Not-so-cute behaviors – still the usuals…. occasional tantrums; whining!   Also, a new resistance with going to time out, so I now usually have to physically move him to his time away space. 
• Potty  Training – We are all set!  Other than the occasional too-lazy-to-pull-his-pants-all-the-way-down pee stains, that is.  He even seems to be staying dry at night now as well.  But I have really learned how gross boys are, and am worried what’s in store for me down the road! :)
