there’s an elf on our shelf

I have to admit … I haven’t been particularly keen on the Elf on the Shelf idea, especially seeing how much mischief some of these overachieving elves get into on pinterest, and I also try to avoid using Santa as a temporary behavioral threat, which seems like a slippery slope with the whole elf surveillance deal.  But after the movie aired on TV, and seeing the elf in action at some other homes, I decided to give it a go with Jackson.

Our elf arrived the other night, and Jackson loves him :)  He named him “Tippy” and is very curious about how it all works. 

Jackson was so excited that first night, he ran in my room the next morning eager to search for Tippy.

 

Tippy was quite hidden, and it took us a while, but we finally discovered him perched in our wreath over the fireplace.

This morning Tippy showed up in one of Jackson’s bookshelves in his room!

We even received a letter and adoption certificate from Santa :)  How fun!
