Jacksonisms

P is for Phonics
Jackson is all about letter sounds lately… he’s always sounding out the beginning of words, and thinking through which letter it starts with.  One day in the car he said the word “pizza” and then … “ppp, ppp, ppp…. P is for pizza! … And pee… and poop…. and potty!  <snicker, snicker>”  That boy will find any opportunity for potty humor!

Geographical Imagination
Jackson has been studying continents at preschool, and he can name many of them, and knows some facts about a few.  He was talking about some things he’s learned and started listing them: “Africa, North America… and there’s also one where monster trucks are, and it’s cold, and they drive like penguins.”  What an imagination…

Department Store Honor
Driving to the mall recently, Jackson exclaimed “I see my letters!”  as we passed “JC Penney” :)

Working the Pity Angle
Jackson was laying around one evening and said in a pitiful voice “I have the flu…because I’m coughing.” {he wasn’t even really sick}

Chowing down
Jackson loves tacos; I made some one night, and he had eaten about 75% of his when he actually stopped to look at it, and pointed at the filling and asked with a scowl “What IS that?”  When I replied “beef and cheese” he said “Ewww, DISGUSTING!”  But then he went right back to eating it after I informed him he had no problem with it for the first 5 minutes that he devoured it.  Silly boy!
