August Fun

Jackson participated in a local summer camp this year, and making a royal cape was one of the fun activities they did one week…. I like how his first item of power was to convince the teachers that his initials were actually JCD. He was quite proud, and is turning out to be a trickster…

First … Mommmmm, do I havvveeee tooooooo? finnnneeeeeeee. Then he actually was kinda happy to show off his Cat in the Hat mask from school. :)

 
Jackson isn’t content to ride in the cart normally anymore… I usually require it while we are actually shopping, and then give him a few minutes at the end to “roam freely.”  The result is him testing every possible physical manifestation of being “in the cart”.

He ALWAYS has a toy with him. It’s either a car, monster truck, or Lego people.

Jackson has a recurring interest in dinosaurs, and the history and cause of the extinction. He also has been talking about death more lately, in general. I was a bit embarrassed at the recent Meet the Teacher night at his preschool where he pulled out the dinosaurs, and set up elaborate scenes where “meteors” (rocks) crashed into each dinosaur and he loudly pronounced “AND NOW THIS DINOSAUR IS DEAD.”
