Jackson’s First Visit to the Fair

Stephanie and I took Jackson and Sabrina to the Cleveland County fair last weekend, and they had a blast!  And Alan even met us there to join in on the fun.

Tractors
They had this open field with lots of tractors and farm equipment that the kids could climb all over and pretend to drive.  Jackson & Sabrina loved it and we practically had to tear them away to move on to other parts of the fair.

these balloons drove us crazy, getting in the way!  But the kids sure loved them :)

Jackson liked petting this little chick.  We also got to see lots of goats, chickens, and even pet a pretty cow named Pinky.

Yummy Fair Food
We made sure Jackson and Sabrina had chances to eat all the staple fair foods. … and of course, we did too!

Hot dog & cheese fries

Corn dog

Funnel cake (although he preferred to have Steph’s nachos instead…)

Rides
We debated even doing rides with the little ones because they were so expensive ($3.75 per kid per ride!), but in the end, we decided we needed to let them ride at least one, and the Merry Go Round seemed like a best bet.  However, Jackson wanted on as soon as we stood in line, and proceeded to have a tantrum while we waited, while we got on, and while we waited for the ride to start (it was quite a workout to keep him secure on the kinda tall horse…).  As soon as the ride started though, he quieted down and seemed to enjoy it… in some kind of toddler-trance, that is.

After an eventful evening at the fair, Jackson was tired, and didn’t make it through the car ride home.  To his credit, I think this was the latest he’s ever stayed up!
