Santa!

So after last year when everyone told us we should have gone to the Dillard’s Santa, we knew we had to visit him this year. 

I tried to take him last weekend, but after waiting 20 minutes in line (and hadn’t even signed in yet!), he lost all patience and a super-crazy-thrashing-screaming-tantrum forced us to leave. 

So we came back for round two the other night, thinking that in the evening, on a rainy cold day there wouldn’t be that many people.  And there weren’t – there were only a few people in front of us.  BUT IT TOOK FOREVER!!!!  The photographer tries his hardest to get the perfect smiling shot.  Which probably thrilled the other moms.  Me?  Not so much. 

Jackson seemed to think Santa was kind of cool while he was in the stroller waiting for our turn.  But as soon as I took him out and approached Santa, Jackson had the typical freak-out and started clinging to me, refusing to sit on his lap.  The photographer immediately interjected, trying to come up with ways to make Jackson at ease. 

A picture of Jackson crying and lurching out of Santa’s lap would have been so awesome.  A realistic candid shot of what actually went down.

Alas, the photographer decided I should hold J-man and be in the picture.  So we ended up with this:

Ehhh, it’s cute.  But a crying one still would have been awesome :)
