2 Years

Jackson is 2 years old (as of yesterday)!  Measurements have him at 29 lbs, 35 in. (no, he didn’t shrink…the nurse measured him shorter than I have at home…not sure who’s accurate!).  Here’s a look at how he’s grown!

First Day

Current Developmental Milestones:

  • Talking ALL the time and saying new things every day.  Making simple sentences and now asks questions.
  • Concepts – Alphabet: knows some sections of the alphabet by memory; recognizes some letters visually.  Counting:  He can count to 10, sometimes further!  Colors:  definitely has blue and purple down, and sometimes green and red.  Others:  up/down, on/off, and open/close
  • Independence and sense of self --- really starting to come out in the last month.  “I do it!” “MINE!” “I did it!”
  • Favorite toy right now – play kitchen, trains, cars/trucks
  • Favorite books – Goodnight Moon, If You Give a Pig a Pancake (but no longer on the must-read-the-same-book-every-single-night kick)
  • Cute behaviors – can hear and find planes, trains, motorcycles, trucks, etc from the faintest noise!  Loves his “Monkey” and brushes his teeth, sets him with us to read books, and sleeps with him.  Says “Nooo waaay” instead of just “no.”
  • Not-so-cute behaviors – “MINE” everything; refusing to nap occasionally; tantrums
  • Favorite TV show – Sesame Street
  • Wearing size 24 months/2T clothes, and in size 4 diapers
