Birthday Fun

Jackson’s birthday was on Wednesday, and I wanted to make sure to make it a special day.  So I took the day off of work and planned some fun stuff!

We started the day by eating blue pancakes!  Jackson chose the color, and I could probably safely assume it’s his favorite.  He was very excited to have these special bright pancakes.  “Boo pancakes!”  I served them up with candles and the happy birthday song.  He immediately knew what to do and started blowing the candles right away!

We lit the candles and sang the song a couple more times!

 

Then we headed out to visit Discovery Place – mainly wanted to check out the new KidScience exhibit which is geared to the under-5 crew.  It was AWESOME!  Had some really different, really cool stuff.

There was a huge water play table complete with showers, squirters, sprayers, toys, spouts, and lots of splash space.

I think this was my favorite thing there – a huge lite brite!  I loved those things when I was young :)

They had a lot of other cool stations --- one where you could build a car and race it down a ramp, another where you could play with air by shooting a rocket upwards and lots of others!   Definitely a lot of fun :)

After lunch and a nap, we resumed the birthday activities with having a big chocolate birthday cupcake (singing & candles again!).

And then the grand finale --- showing Jackson his birthday present, the train table!

It was such a fun day! 

 

We’re not done with the birthday celebrations yet though – a party with friends and family is slated for this weekend!  :)
