Some recent funny and super-cool stuff from the little guy....
Dinosaurs!
Finally! He's starting to get into dinosaurs. Loving it, since that's the theme for the decor in his bedroom, and he has lots of dino books, toys, and pictures. His favorites seem to be triceratops and stegosaurus, and he's learned to identify them! He says some funny stuff about the dinos too ... like one night around bedtime he said "Mommy, hear it? The triceratops is coming!" Luckily he didn't seem frightened about it, just curious. I asked him the next morning if he ever saw that triceratops, and he said "No -- he's too far away!" (one of his famous phrases).
I love 'em.
Jackson is still enthralled by all things-that-go. If he notices a train, motorcycle, airplane, tractor, truck, bus, or anything on wheels that's not a regular ole' car, he gets excited and excitedly identifies it. "Look Mommy, it's a train!!!!!" One day he saw some school buses parked in a lot, and he said "I see school buses; I love 'em." He said the same sentiment about a tractor one day too. Hilarious!
Patience & Care
Jackson has started using some of my phrases back on me. One day while I was driving, he said "Be careful Mommy. Watch out for the grass and trees!" Another one he used on me? "Be patient, Mommy" ... when I was changing his diaper. I had to laugh at these....
Spanish
Jackson has been picking up some Spanish from watching Dora all-the-time. We were heading to bed one evening recently, and he just started counting in spanish --- he made it all the way to ocho (8)!! And then this past week he wanted me to go do something, and he just said "Vamanos, Mommy!" Sometimes I can't belive how much he's learned! And I have to just laugh....
ABCs
Also, apparently he can say the entire alphabet! He always made me sing it if I asked, but he just spouted off on his own randomly one day last week, and then has been doing it all the time since. Sometimes he likes to do a QRS-remix where he just sings that part over and over when he gets to it. Sooo random, little man.
What's your name?
Jackson got hung up on asking EVERYONE this question over and over last week. If you ask him for his name, he says "Jackson" or sometimes "Big Jackson." I had told him my name was "Sharla" a couple of times, and yesterday, when I asked him what my name was, he remembered and said "Sharla." Sometimes he definitely surprises me!

I,m amazed too at how much he is learning. and i love hearing him talk.. such a smart little J
ReplyDeleteLily does the QRS Remix all the time. She takes a really big breathe before it too so the Q is very exaggerated. Too cute. Where do they get it?
