Thanksgifiting … how Jackson pronounces it :)
Yuummmmmm this is what I have been longing for! (one of the great loves in my life is food.)
Yes, I decided to be fancy and drink my diet Dr Pepper out of a wine glass. don’t judge.
We had a good one! My family came over for dinner, and I cooked most of the meal – I don’t usually like day-to-day cooking, but I do enjoy doing it at the holidays! It was the first time hosting in the new house, also. The kitchen is a lot smaller, but I guess that just means less time walking to move dishes, on the bright side. Oh, and I randomly whipped up some fall table décor with some unused vases and the like. Oh, and that was me outside breaking off branches for the vases. It feels quite Charlie Brown compared to the home decorating blogs I read.
Side note – my table is in desperate need of a runner or some sort of fabric embellishment! On this, you may indeed judge.
Here are some pictures from our evening!
Ready to cook! I should have had a wine glass in hand!
Awww, he really was smiling!
Yep, it came out better with his Aunt Angie!
Wayne & Mom eating at the small table
What a cutie!
The guys. Jackson got quite attached to Wayne and kept asking him to play with him in his room
Kassie & Carter
Jackson took a bite of pumpkin pie and then a bite of carrot. dude, don’t ruin my home-made pie with veggie taste!! Pumpkin pie is sacred in this house, yo.
Playin’ with the boys. And I am holding a diaper in my hand because I found it stuffed in the back of Rowdy, Jackson’s toy garbage truck (along with some kleenex tissues, empty sticker papers, and other trash). At least it was a clean diaper…no telling how long it’s been on the way to Jackson’s pretend landfill.
It’s all fun and games…
…until the baby picks his nose and tries to put it in your mouth. Sorry, Timothy!
I finished out the evening with setting up the Christmas tree (and battling with the pre-lit lights outage…I lost), so that Jackson and I could decorate it the next morning. Pics to come on our tree decoratin’ tradition soon!
