bath time gets picniked.

If you haven’t used picnik.com you have to RIGHT NOW.  It’s like all the best basic parts of photoshop – except it’s ridiculously, unbelievably easy AND free.  Holla.

I rarely edit my pics (because photoshop makes my head hurt), but lately have found myself using picnik for quick edits to crappy lighting on otherwise good shots, or to really finish up a pic that I want to have printed for framing.

I recently confirmed it was ok for me to steal “borrow” Amy’s bathroom bath-time picture idea --- a really big framed pic of the little guy in a bath shot on the wall.  Adorable!

I searched through some old pics, grabbed a random smiley one, cropped it up a bit, and then decided to play around in picnik.  Here’s my before / after:

Before

After

All I did was the auto-fix, some sepia tone stuff and the vignette and focal soften tools.  About 15 mins of playing around.  I’m sure a pro could totally do some amazing stuff that would blow my mind, but for my amateur skillz, it’s decent. :)

Any picnik pros out there with any tips for me??

  1. I use picnik exclusivly now and am upgrading to photoshop. Buy the premium I use the curves function ALL THE TIME. It is worth the 24 dollars a year.
