We met some family at Chick Fil A for dinner last week… we didn’t even realize the restaurant was having a fire safety event for kids, so it was a bonus treat that there was a fire truck, firefighters, and other fun stuff to check out. Jackson was thrilled and had a blast from the moment we drove up and he spotted the fire truck!
Activities inside – worksheets, fun (weird Pope-ish) hats, and little fire trucks to play with
The real fun was outside by the truck though – they let the kids get very up close and check everything out. Jackson had so much fun inspecting everything inside and outside the truck, and wanted to know the function and purpose for everything. Many thanks to the very patient firefighters who explained every little detail to my inquisitive boy :)

And then, somehow, this happened. It started with me joking about putting on the boots & pants that were set out, and then it spiraled wayyyy out of control! But I did get to experience how heavy all of the gear is – it’s much heavier than it seems, and I wasn’t even wearing the pack! These guys are strong!
I’ve never seen Alan offer (insist?) on holding a handbag so eagerly… and then he nearly finished dressing me… he didn’t appreciate my hesitance and embarrassment with the whole endeavor.
A fun night learning about fire safety and firefighting services!
