Jacksonims

Tomorrow-Today?  Jackson still doesn’t quite grasp the continuum of time, and the references to specific instances of past and future.  Most things that happened in the past occurred “yesterday” or “last night.”  And looking to the future is confusing, especially if it involves planning beyond one sleep cycle :)  At bedtime, I often tell him what’s coming the next day, and he’ll always ask “Today???” and I’ll say “No, tomorrow.”  His response… “Tomorrow-today??!!”

Potty talk
With potty training, comes a newfound fascination and emphasis with anything potty-related.  So Jackson loves to make potty jokes these days.  I usually let it slide and mostly ignore it, but one evening he started it up during dinner.  I had to tell him discussions of poo sandwiches were not appropriate for mealtime.  On the flip side though, I’m totally thrilled with the potty progress!

My Perfect Little Monster
Jackson is no stranger to time out – and he’s gone through phases of various resistance.  At times, he goes complacently and calmly, and other times, he’ll want to throw things on his way in, or once he’s in his room.  Recently, on the way in, he reached for a book and threw it down to the ground.  It couldn’t have been more hilarious… the title of the book… The Perfect Little Monster.
