Food & Fun at the Fair!

We hit up the Cleveland County Fair again this year, with Alan, Steph, Tasha, & Sabrina.  Jackson kept talking about it, and was so excited to go.  His main request --- to ride the ferris wheel!  He seemed to be able to enjoy everything so much more this year, even if I did have to strap him into the stroller at times, and there were a handful of tantrums. :) 

We always stop at the tractor equipment area first… but this year, it was much smaller with less machines than last year :(

We had some yum food --- hot dogs, fries, nachos, AND ice cream!  Jackson made a glorious mess with this chocolate!

Us on the ferris wheel!  This is the best shot I could get with one arm while tightly gripping him with the other because the boy did not have any fear of the minimally secured little “pod” we were in – he kept wanting to hang over the side to get a better look!  Ackk!  Maybe I should really start getting scared that he says (all the time….) “I’m going to jump out of airplanes!”

We did have an amazing view up on the top, AND we even got to take in an unexpected fireworks show!  This is why I love going to the fair at night :)

After the rides, we went back to see the animals again, and this time we were able to visit with the cows.  J loved them, and (no surprise) has no fear of them, just getting right in their face and saying “Hi, Cow.  How are you today?”

Unfortunately, we ended up getting separated from the rest of the gang after dinner, and while we waited to meet up with someone to make sure to get Sabrina’s jacket back to her, Jackson distracted himself with playing in a chicken coop for sale…. people kept walking by laughing at the little boy locked up in the chicken pen!  After I forced him (thrashing a bit) out of the chicken pen, he discovered the old-time fire truck nearby, and began to play on the side of that while we waited.  Such simple things, and yet no lines and no cost! And ONLY at the county fair ;)
